Summer Camp 2008

Let Marin Theatre Company nurture your child’s passion for theatre. Immerse them in the full theatre experience, from page to stage! MTC’s Summer Theatre Conservatory is a full-day training program for students in grades 2 - 12, culminating in fully produced performances open to the public on MTC’s stages.

Each program features quality theatre training during the morning and rehearsals during the afternoon. Students engage their imaginations, study their craft, and work together to put on a production. Classes include improvisation, musical theatre, dance, playwriting, and acting techniques. Final performances are fully produced with costumes, lights and sets. Camps are held Monday - Friday | 10am - 5pm (extended care not available). Tuition includes one t-shirt, one performance DVD and four tickets to one performance.

Both full and partial scholarships for all Conservatory programs are available. All camps perform at Marin Theatre Company, 397 Miller Ave, Mill Valley.

THE STINKY CHEESE MAN
Based on the book by Jon Scieska
Based on the award-winning childrens’ book, this delightful musical adaptation skewers all the fairy tales you know and love.  Choose the session that fits your schedule best, or sign up for both and play different roles! Performs in MTC’s Boyer Theatre.

INTO THE WOODS
By Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine
The Brothers Grimm go Broadway in this cockeyed fairy tale where all of your favorite characters — Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk) and The Witch — cross paths on their journeys. Performs in MTC’s Boyer Theatre.

ONE-ACT FESTIVAL
Drama, comedy, mystery, and tragedy — you’ll get a taste of everything, and everyone will get to play a leading role in one of the short plays that make up this exciting performance. With playwriting and directing thrown into the mix, this new program is perfect for students looking to deepen their craft and expand their horizons. Performs in MTC’s Lieberman Theatre.
