Solid Production [The Good German]

Review by Randy
Saw the “Good German” on Easter Sunday which seemed somewhat strange, but I thought what better place to be and what thought provoking material to be given by the end of the afternoon. I must at first admit I thought the presentation seemed to be a debate over different philosophical viewpoints but gradually [...]

“The Good German” did not feel real enough

Review by Jack Lieberman
My wife and I both did not enjoy “The Good German” (3/17). We have been subscribers for over five years and were disappointed with this play. My main impression was that the entire story did not feel real enough. I had the feeling throughout the play that I was [...]

One of the Best Plays … I Have Seen in a Long Time [The Good German]

Review by Bud Sisson:
First I must confess my prejudice. I am Brian Herndon’s stepfather [Brian plays Braun in The Good German] and I have seen almost all of his works. Unquestionably, this was his absolute best.
Second, it was very well directed, and one of the most effective effects were the pauses at critical moments. [...]

The Good German was Superb

Review by Sandy:
The Good German was superb. Ages of dialogue within our family on this subject, and related subjects over 60+ years leaves one expecting something less. The subject has been done over and over, we know, and not always with taste.
The play was written and directed with a unique and sensitive approach. The performances [...]

The Power of the Message [The Good German]

While watching the play I was too involved in just following these changes [...]

A dynamite performance! [The Good German]

Review by: Marti Roush (Preview performance)

I echo Dorothy Slattery’s  very well articulated sentiments.  It was a dynamite performance!  And thanks to Jasson Minadakis for taking a few moments after Sunday’s performance to share some thoughts about the play.  It really makes the experience that much richer.

Beyond Good! [The Good German]

The Good German is beyond good! Warren David Keith does an exceptional job portraying an almost likeable unlikeable. The character morphing around compassion and decency between Karl(Keith) and Siemi (Darren Bridgett) is seamless and believable given the circumstances at at hand. Bridgett developed his character beautifully to reflect his hardening [...]

Just saw yesterday’s performance–bravo MTC!! We loved it–very thought-provoking and thoroughly well-acted and directed. The last offering (Frozen) and this one really mark a huge step-up for the MTC. We’re impressed and look forward to continuing our season subscription.
