Six-generation Bay Area native Daniel Johnson grew up in San Rafael and attended St. Raphael’s Grammar School, Marin Catholic High School, the College of Marin and the University of San Francisco. Daniel’s career as an actor and singer evolved concurrently with his career as an educator and coach. Past Bay Area performance highlights included performing with Jerry Herman (Tune the Grand Up – Bay Area DramaLogue Award), Cy Coleman (Cycles), the Marin Mountain Play (Freddy in My Fair Lady), Woodminster Amphitheatre (Will in Will Rogers Follies) and ACT San Francisco (pre-Broadway musical Cole Porter’s High Society). Daniel was a student and faculty member at ACT for several years prior to moving to New York City to teach at Hunter College, the New York Film Academy and NYU. While in New York, Daniel’s numerous credits included performing with the New Haven Symphony as well as acting as vocal coach on Russel Simmon’s Def Poetry Jam on Broadway. After launching the Disney Cruise Line as principal performer, Daniel began a pivot into corporate life. Initially at Credit Suisse and subsequently at Cantor Fitzgerald, Daniel eventually as a founding partner and General Manager of S2K Companies focusing on brand, content and talent (Avion Tequila, American Idol, Andy Murray, David and Victoria Beckham) Returning to the Bay Area in 2019, Daniel worked for Primer Technologies, an AI tech startup in San Francisco. When not at work, you can likely find Daniel either outside enjoying Marin with his boxer dog Laila or on the water rowing with Marin Rowing Association.
